A 60 minute session that covers the history of your injury, testing of the surrounding structures to determine what is at fault, development of a comprehensive and specific plan, initial intervention with manual techniques and foundational corrective exercises to start the healing process, and creation of a Home Exercise Program (HEP) for the patient to do on non-therapy days.
30-60 minutes of manual therapy, evidence-based modalities, and exercise tailored to you and your specific injury.
This type of session includes corrective exercises and training to address deficits that could lead to injury. Manual therapy and exercise will be used together to address the underlying issues that may put you at risk of further injury. These sessions are also used with people who have recovered from an injury and want to reduce their chances of suffering it again.

DO WE ACCEPT MEDICARE
Yes, we are a Medicare provider. Medicare covers 80% of physical and occupational therapy services. The remaining 20% is the patient's responsibility unless you have a supplemental insurance. As a courtesy we bill all secondary insurances. Currently there is a Medicare cap in place for outpatient therapy services.
DO WE ACCEPT PRIVATE INSURANCE?
We will accept any insurance and bill as a courtesy to our patients. We participate with most health insurance plans; however it is very important to call for benefits prior to attending therapy to ensure that services will be covered. We will call to verify your benefits for you.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT MY INSURANCE WILL COVER?
As a courtesy to our patients we will call to verify your benefits for therapy services. Please remember that a verification of benefits IS NOT a guarantee of payment. We are often quoted incorrect information and can only relay what we are told by your insurance company. It is always a good idea for you to call to verify this information.
DO I NEED A PRESCRIPTION OR REFERRAL FROM MY DOCTOR?
All Medicare patients require a prescription for therapy services. Prescriptions are valid for 30 days following the date of the script. Private insurance companies may or may not require that you obtain a prescription. Some require a direct referral from your primary care physician (PCP). In all cases, it is important to call to verify this information with your insurance prior to starting treatment.
IS IT MANDATORY THAT I OBTAIN A PRESCRIPTION FOR THERAPY SERVICES?
Florida is a DIRECT ACCESS state and a patient can obtain services without a prescription from a physician. DIRECT ACCESS allows us to treat you for 30 consecutive days without a referral or prescription from a physician. After 30 days you will be required to obtain a prescription from a licensed Florida physician in order to continue treatment. This is a Florida State Law and surpasses all insurance requirements.
CAN I USE A PRESCRIPTION FROM A NON-FLORIDA PHYSICIAN?
Yes, you may use a prescription from a MD who is not licensed in the state of Florida. However, the State of Florida requires you obtain a prescription from a licensed Florida physician after the 30th consecutive day of treatment. This is a state law and surpasses all insurance requirements.
WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE A FLORIDA PHYSICIAN?
It is always a good idea to establish yourself with a Florida Physician if you are a part-time resident. However, if you do not have a physician in Florida we will be happy to provide you with some referrals.
